William J. Connington III
William J. Connington III is a wealth advisor with Connington Wealth Management an independent wealth management firm that was founded in 1997. In this position, he develops comprehensive wealth strategies and retirement plans for physicians, business owners, and affluent investors.
Connington Wealth Management offers access to the retirement planning, social security benefits, estate planning, insurance, investments, planned giving and fee based asset management. While Connington Wealth Management is an independent company and is not under pressure to sell any “in-house” financial products, it is able to conduct business with many distinguished financial firms including LPL Financial, J.P. Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Transamerica and Genworth.
Prior to re-opening Connington Wealth Management in 2015, Connington was a Wealth Advisor with Astorino Financial Group from 2010-2014. He began his career with IDS Life in 1992 and continued with that firm after it was acquired by American Express.
Connington is the author of both newspaper and magazine articles that have appeared in The Star-Ledger, Physician’s Money Digest, Dermatology Times, and Businessweek.
Connington holds securities registrations 7, 24 and 63 through LPL Financial and also holds insurance licenses. In 1992, he earned a BS from Seton Hall University, and has been a member of the financial advisory board of the University since 2005. He is a veteran of the United States Air Force.
Connington is active in his community, having served as an elected Councilman for the Township of Fairfield from 2008 to 2010. He also served on the Fairfield municipal planning board and was a liaison to the township’s finance department and its environmental commission. Connington is active in coaching local youth sports as well as travel Baseball, Basketball & Softball Programs.
